Michael Lessky

Conductor’s training with Karl Österreicher at Vienna Music Highscholl and frequently assisting Claudio Abbado. He studied conducting, church-music, organ and jazz-theory. 1995 successful starting point at Vienna Musikverein, conducted the Österr.-Ungarische Haydn-Philharmonie, Wiener Mozart-Akademie and Concertchoir Wiener Staatsopernchor with Schubert’s masses.

Important aspect is the collaboration with internationally renowned vocal soloists, such as Agnes Baltsa, José Carreras, Saimir Pirgu and Robert Holl. Lessky also conducted the operas of “Nabucco” and “Die Zauberflöte” at Opernfestspiele St.Margarethen (Aut) and “Così fan tutte” at the Vienna Mozartyear 2006. Another emphasis are the symphonic works of Schubert, Brcukner and Mahler. Particular notice of press with the interpretation of Mahler’s 2nd, 4th and Bruckner’s 9th. CD-productions of Mahler, Mozart, Schubert and Strauss and modern works with Sony and Gramola.
